LINEAGE II INTERLUDE · RIQELO FACTIONS
Two sides. Two worlds. Your story.
Light and Dark develop on the same map in separate worlds. Choose your side, find allies and face your opponents in the daily Icewind Dale battle.

Light
Your own world, allies and achievements

Dark
Your own world, allies and achievements
Your side is permanent
Your side belongs to your character, not your game account.
Getting started
- Choose Light or Dark when creating a character and confirm your choice.
- Choose your race, class, appearance and name. Your side does not restrict your race or class.
- Begin at the normal starting location for your race and class, in your side’s world.
Before you confirm
- An existing character cannot change sides. Class transfers and subclass changes keep your side.
- One account may contain characters from both sides. The total limit is 8 characters per account.
- Character, clan and alliance names are shared across both sides: an existing name cannot be reused.
A complete world for each side
Two versions of the Lineage II world, each with all towns and hunting grounds.
Both sides have the same towns, starting villages and locations. NPCs, monsters, doors and limited NPC-shop stock belong to each world. PvP and PK rankings are separate too. In the ordinary world you meet players from your own side; opposing characters occupy their own version of those locations. Matching coordinates do not let you see, attack or trade with each other.
Logging in, normal teleports and returning from special zones preserve your side. Light and Dark meet in the daily battle. Normal PvP, PK and peace-zone rules still apply within your ordinary world.
The calendar and day/night cycle can be the same for both sides. Separate bosses, holdings and event results do not imply different times of day or different schedules for every event.
Allies, communication and clans
Join players from your own side. Interactions in the world also require the same world or zone.
Parties and communication
- Parties, command channels and party matching are restricted to one side.
- Private messages, in-game mail and friends are restricted to your side. In-game chat respects the separation of worlds and sides.
- Party runs retain their normal party, level and zone-entry requirements.
Clans and alliances
- A clan or academy can recruit only characters from its own side.
- Alliances consist of clans from one side. Changing the leader does not change the side.
- Castles, clan halls, sieges and their services belong to your clan’s world.
Items and the economy
Sharing an account does not allow moving items between Light and Dark.
Item transfers
- Trades, private stores, crafting services and item delivery are restricted to your side.
- Warehouse services cannot transfer items to an opposing character, even on the same account.
- Clan property remains within a clan on your side. Normal access permissions and item restrictions still apply.
Player auction
Open Alt+B → Auction. Search and listings use your own side’s market. You cannot buy your own listing; only its owner can withdraw it.
- A–S grade weapons, armor and jewelry are accepted. Augmented items are excluded.
- Payment: Adena or Coin of Luck, chosen by the seller.
- Listing costs 1,000 Adena; cancellation costs 10,000 Adena. The percentage fee is 0%. Listings last up to 7 days; unsold items are returned when the owner logs in.
Each side has its own history
One side’s achievements do not take the other side’s place or determine its results.
Raids and epics
Each side has its own raid bosses, boss state and respawns, raid points and rankings. This includes Queen Ant, Core, Orfen, Baium, Antharas, Valakas, Zaken, Frintezza and Sailren. A kill in the other world does not consume your boss.
Castles and clan halls
Owners, sieges, clan hall auctions, residence functions and Manor are separated by side. The same castle on the map can belong to different Light and Dark clans in their respective worlds. Sieges are contested by clans on the same side; they are not Light-versus-Dark battles.
Olympiad and heroes
Light and Dark have separate queues, matches, points and heroes. Opponents come from your side; the other side’s results do not determine your heroes. Spectators may watch their own side’s arenas. Normal Olympiad eligibility requirements remain in effect.
Seven Signs
Each side has its own contributions, Dawn-versus-Dusk contest, winner, seals and Festival of Darkness. Access to the corresponding Mammon services follows your world’s results. Dawn and Dusk are Seven Signs cabals, not the Light and Dark factions.
Special zones and cursed weapons
Dimensional Rift, Four Sepulchers and party quests respect participants’ sides and return them to their own world. Normal entry requirements, quests and timers still apply. Zariche and Akamanah have separate state and owners in each world.
World competitions
The lottery, fishing competition and Monster Race keep their own results for each side. Monster Race bets and payouts are separated too. Check announcements and results in your own world.
Daily battle: Icewind Dale
A shared arena for Light and Dark. The side with the most opposing player kills wins.
Entry opens
Enter through the portal in your own world’s Giran during this 10-minute window.
The battle starts
20 minutes of fighting. New participants can no longer join.
Result and return
Kills are counted, victory or a draw is announced, and players return to their worlds.
All times use Europe/Berlin, including daylight saving changes. These are not UTC times.
- Level
- 1–80
- Minimum to start
- 1 per side
- Slots per side
- 100
- Respawn
- 10 seconds
How to join
- Between 20:00 and 20:10, find the Light / Dark portal in your world’s Giran and confirm entry.
- Your character must be alive and outside combat, duels, trades, private stores, Olympiad, boats and teleportation.
- At 20:10, at least one player must be present on each side. If either side is empty, the battle is cancelled and participants return.
Levels, gear and buffs are not equalized. Entry itself does not refill HP, MP or CP. Prepare before joining. Karma and cursed weapons do not themselves block entry; normal cursed-weapon restrictions still apply.
Combat and safe bases
- Attacks are blocked before the start. During combat, friendly fire is disabled; healing or buffing enemies is blocked. Healing and buffing allies are allowed.
- Both bases are safe zones for both sides. Attacks from a base and attacks on targets inside a base are blocked.
- Pets and summons follow their owner’s side and the same combat restrictions. Base protection also covers a pet when its owner is inside a base.
Death and respawn
- Your character automatically respawns after 10 seconds at its own base with full HP, MP and CP. External resurrection does not shorten the delay. Pets are not automatically resurrected.
- Battle deaths do not cost EXP, add a death penalty or cause equipment to drop. Event combat does not change ordinary PvP/PK counters or karma.
- Positive effects survive death with their remaining duration. Negative effects are removed. Buff timers are not refreshed. Consumables are spent as usual.
Score and result
- The score counts credited kills of opposing players. Pet or summon kills are credited to the owner.
- The side with more kills wins; equal scores mean a draw.
- The battle result currently grants no items, Adena or EXP.
During the event, view status, phase, participants, score and your participation in the Light / Dark portal window in Giran. The refresh button shows current information; battle entry is confirmed separately.
Leaving, reconnecting and cancellation
A character that has already joined may return before the current battle ends.
- I want to leave
- Use the exit NPC between the bases. Normal teleports and escape methods are blocked while participating. You return to your original location in your own world.
- I left or disconnected
- After reconnecting, you appear in your own world. The same character may use the Giran portal again before 20:30 if its side has a free slot. This also works after leaving voluntarily.
- I missed the entry window
- After 20:10, new characters cannot join. Re-entry is available only to an already registered participant in the current battle.
- The battle ended or the server restarted
- Participants return to their own worlds. A server restart cancels the current battle; it does not resume afterward. There is no separate 30-minute timer after disconnection.

Common questions
Quick answers before you start.
Can I change my mind and switch sides?
No. An existing character’s choice is permanent. Create another character for the other side; the same account is allowed within its total limit of 8 characters.
My friend chose the other side. Can we play together?
Leveling together, parties, clans and trading require characters on the same side. Characters from opposite sides meet as opponents in the daily battle.
Can I send Adena to my character on the other side?
No. Item-transfer restrictions include currency and characters on the same account. Warehouses, stores and the auction do not bypass the side separation.
Why can’t I see someone at the same coordinates?
Check your side and zone. In the ordinary world, Light and Dark occupy different versions of the map; matching coordinates do not merge those worlds.
Do I need Noblesse for the Icewind Dale battle?
No. The battle accepts levels 1–80 when entry conditions are met. It is a separate event, not Olympiad. Equipment and levels are not equalized.
What happens to buffs and EXP after a battle death?
You lose no EXP; positive effects retain their normal remaining duration. Your character respawns after 10 seconds at its own base with full HP, MP and CP.
Where do I check the score and register?
During the event, the Light / Dark portal window in Giran shows information and score. Join through this portal from 20:00 to 20:10 Europe/Berlin. Viewing or refreshing information does not replace confirming entry.
